How much of your day do you spend in a state of distraction? How many times do you tune out when your child is telling you another one of their marathon stories? Do you spend too much time on your phone or computer? If you're like most people, you are distracted and not in the moment too often. How do you break yourself of that habit? It's not easy. But by learning to practice the concept of mindfulness, you can be more present in your daily life.

Why is mindfulness important?

There are actually many benefits to learning how to be mindful. This is by no means a comprehensive list of the benefits, but rather a snapshot of why we all should give it a try.

Better cognitive skills -- improved memory, quicker reaction time, enhanced brain function, improved concentration, bolstered decision-making skills, etc.

Increased overall happiness -- more self-esteem, better ability to focus on one's goals, better interpersonal relationships, more confidence, more work satisfaction, etc.

Improved life skills -- better control over emotions, increased sense of empathy toward others, increased ability to "power through" adversity, increased listening skills, better public speaking skills, etc.

Better physical health -- reduced anxiety and stress, reduction in pain, boosted immune system, better sleep, impproved circulatory health, etc.

Happiness the Mindful Way

Happiness the Mindful Way: A Practical Guide is a comprehensive guide to the concept of mindfulness. It outlines the benefits, why more of us need to start practicing it, and then goes through many different ways we can put the concept into motion in our daily lives.

"The mindful way to well-being is life-changing. If you choose it, you'll need to follow a routine of short, mindfulness meditations. Alongside that, you'll need to become aware of any ingrained habits of mind that have stopped you, so far, from living life to the full."

This book contains a wealth of information about mindfulness. From discovering mindfulness to learning how to call upon mindfulness when we need it, this book is a wonderful resource for learning how to be in the present and truly get more out of every day.
