Great Canadian candles!

Whenever I can, I like to buy Canadian-made products. There are so many amazingly talented artisans and artists right here in our own backyard and they deserve to get a shout-out! I recently discovered a small company that is right in my own backyard, and I just had to spread the word! If you're a candle lover, you're going to LOVE this!

Unique Candles is based out of London, Ontario. They create some of the yummiest, most unique -- hence the name! -- candles ever. First, let's take a quick look at some of the things they make, then we'll delve into the details a little more closely.

If you're a coffee lover (and if you're not, we can't be friends) you'll love the Soy Votive Trio, seen here in three coffee shop-inspired scents: Vanilla Mint Latte, Salted Caramel, and Roasted Espresso. When you purchase these trios online, you can mix-and-match your scents for the perfect trio for you! Choose from scents like these, or others such as Country Berry, Cinnamon Bun, and Pink Sugar, among others.

These little candles pack a scent punch without being cloying or sickly. They have a great scent throw without being overwhelmingly strong, offering just enough scent to fill a room without assaulting your nostrils :) Because they are soy candles, they burn cleanly and longer than paraffin wax candles. These candles do not bother my husband's asthma, as many other candles do, so if that's a concerns in your family you don't need to worry. Each of these votives has a 15-hour burn time, too, so you get a lot of bang for buck! These trios sell for $12.

Unique Candles also sells Gel Wax Melts ($10 for 3). These are a great alternative to candles, to be used in a wax warmer. Simply open the container, pinch off a small amount, and melt in your favourite warmer for another delicious way to scent your home. I received the Gel Wax Melt in Country Berry, and I can tell you for sure this is one delicious scent! It smells like the very best homemade jam EVER. Now if only I had a peanut butter candle to burn alongside this.....hmmmm ;)

Now on to my favourite product from Unique Candles (although they are all awesome, truly!): The 3" Tart Candles. These look exactly like a bakery tart, and although they are not edible, they certainly look and smell like they are! Scents available include Peach, Lemon Meringue, Cherry, and Apple (pictured here). I currently have this on my kitchen table with some apples and cinnamon sticks, and it makes the perfect centrepiece! Burn time on these little babies is a whopping 12 hours!
