Summer is a time of get-togethers with family and friends: BBQs, bridal showers, baby showers, weddings, girls' weekends away, and more. For many of these occasions, it's customary to give your guests a little something to take away with them, a token of your thanks for their attendance at your event. Sometimes, it's about simply giving our friends something to remember a special weekend away and to let them know how much we appreciate them.
No matter what the occasion, candles can be the perfect favour solution. With some yummy-scented candles and just a few simple supplies, you can make beautiful little packages for your friends and family.

Here's what you'll need:
Candles, of course! (These are my new favourite)
Small gift bags in solid colours (choose pink and blue for a baby shower, match the colour scheme of your event, or choose your friends' favourites!
Co-ordinating tissue paper
Curling ribbon
Small boxes of matches
Washi tape

The first thing to do is to make the matches look pretty. (Stay with me; you'll see why we need pretty matches shortly).

First, pull the cover off the match box. Then, you're going to wrap the over with washi tape. NOTE: Be sure to wrap the strips of tape the "long" way around the box, so you don't cover the striking surface.
From there, wrap a long piece of curling ribbon around the box, tying it in the bag and leaving plenty of extra. You'll use this extra to tie the matches to the hand of the bag. Add a mini bow and voila! The result is cute little mini package to add to your gift bag.

Then, all you have to do is place the candle in the bag (make sure you choose bags that are small enough to fit the candle somewhat snugly, to reduce the risk of breakage.
The finished product is a fun, easy, and lovely way to say thank you! You can even colour-coordinate the candles and scents to suit the occasion!

ALSO: These adorable little heart-shaped wax melts would make a super-sweet wedding favour, too!
