You've probably already heard of Krysten Ritter. She's an award-winning actor and producer, starring in a variety of popular TV shows and movies. Did you know she's also a writer?

In Bonfire, Ritter presents a barn-burner (pyro-pun intended) of a story about a woman named Abby Williams. Ten years ago, she left home and put all thoughts of her small-town roots behind her. Today, she's a successful environmental lawyer living out of a chic, modern apartment and leaving a trail of one-night-only love affairs in her wake.

Then one day, the worlds of her past and her present come crashing together when a new case brings Abby back home to Indiana, where she grew up. As she digs deeper into the case (which has her investigating the town's biggest company) she starts to discover strange connections between the company and the town's biggest scandal from more than a decade ago, a scandal in which Kaycee Mitchell, the popular girl at school, was involved -- just before she disappeared, never to be seen again.

As Abby turns over every stone and looks behind every locked door in an attempt to find out what happened to Kaycee, memories she thought she had quashed begin to bubble menacingly to the surface and she begins to doubt everything she knows. Things get even more disturbing when Abby discovers an even more sinister secret: a ritual known as "The Game." This discovering could bring the lives of many in the sleepy little community to their knees.

Bonfire offers a deliciously satisfying story, full of twists and suspense, all contained within the oppressive confines of a town so small and closely knit that one person's dark secret is everyone's dark secret. For anyone who loves an absorbing thriller with a decidedly dark site, Bonfire is a surefire hit.
