Oprah Winfrey is a life force. She is inimitable. She came from very humble beginnings, to say the least, and has worked and struggled and clawed her way to being one of the world's most recognizable names. Along the way, she has interviewed so many more of the world's most famous people, from actors and directors to poets and politicians and everyone in between. In her new book, The Wisdom of Sundays, Oprah shares pearls of wisdom gleaned from those conversations, what she calls her "Super Soul Conversations," from her Emmy-award-winning show, Super Soul Sunday.

Each chapter represents a different stepping stone onto which so many of us have had to tread on our spiritual journeys: Awakening, Intention, Ego, Forgiveness, Grace and Gratitude, Love and Connection, and more. Each chapter begins with an impactful essay from Oprah herself, followed by revelations and words of wisdom from people such as Eckhart Tolle, Arianna Huffington, Elizabeth Gilbert, and Wayne Dyer.

Reading this book is like what I imagine spending an afternoon chatting with Oprah over frosty glasses of lemonade would be like: inspirational, insightful, comforting, motivating, empowering, and enlightening. It is food for the soul without being cloyingly saccharine or sentimental. It is at once introspective and empowering.

If you know someone who could use a little soul food in the truest sense of the word, The Wisdom of Sundays is the perfect gift -- especially if that person is you.
