How to Catch a Leprechaun!!

Whether you have shamrocks in your blood or not, St. Patrick's Day is a day for celebrating, a day for all things green, and maybe a little mischief. It's also a great time to share some fun books with the little ones in your life. I have two super-fun recommendations for you!

How to Catch a Leprechaun, written by Adam Wallace and illustrated by Andy Elkerton, is a fun way to get your kids' imaginations churning. How would THEY set about catching one of those little rascals? This fun read-aloud book is told entirely in rhyme is laugh-out-loud funny for little ones and older kids alike. This book just might become a St. Patrick's day tradition in your house.

"I liked it! It was funny and it rhymes. I like the cover it feels nice when you hold the book. I also read it with my class. i think many kids would like it."

Another fun and festive St. Patrick's Day-inspired book is Happy St. Patrick's Day, Curious George! by H.A. Rey. In keeping with the style of Curious George books, this is the tale of all of the shenanigans George gets into on St. Patrick's Day. He encounters Irish dancers, a traditional Irish feast, kids making leprechaun traps, and more as he tries to make his way to the St. Patrick's Day parade.

This board book is perfect for little hands. The tabbed pages are easy to turn and kids can easy find their favourite page. (Love the dancing scene? This is another great read-aloud option that will bring the spirit of St. Patrick's Day into your home in a bright, colourful and decidedly George-ish way.
