One of the gems of advice in this book is how to implement the STOP clutter method. Using this method, you'll Sort, Toss, Organize, and/or Put Away every item in a particular area of your home (your junk drawer, for example). Using this method (which is explained in detail in the book) you can move through the clutter in your home in small, manageable chunks until all of the clutter is purged.
Also included in this book are tips on scheduling house work so your home stays tidy and clean, cleaning tips, how to declutter your child's toys, how to manage paper clutter, etc. It really is an A-to-Z resource for creating an organized home.
Having an organized home is about more than just purging the things you don't need. It's about creating systems and habits that help you to keep clutter at bay going forward.
If you want to get a handle on that clutter but aren't sure where to start, Cut the Clutter is a great place to start.
