I have a confession to make: I love Pinterest. (Follow me here if you want proof.) I especially love using Pinterest for recipe inspiration. This week, I decided to try these Slow Cooker Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes, for two reasons. One, because they looked yummy and two, because I had almost everything on hand to make them.

The verdict:

They were easy to make, as most slow cooker recipes are. No hard-to-find ingredients, just ground beef, onions, peppers, beef broth, flour and a few seasonings, plus cheese and buns. Easy peasy.

They smelled amazing while cooking! I find sometimes that slow cooker meals don't always smell good after cooking all day in the crockpot, particularly those with meat in them, but this one smelled great all day. I couldn't wait to eat it!

Unfortunately, my 8yo daughter didn't care for them. She's not at all a picky eater and is actually quite adventurous for a kid her age, but this didn't float her boat. Hubby only taste-tested it as he is on a special eating plan that doesn't allow for some of the ingredients, but he did say it was tasty. Because it is really only I who would be eating it, I probably won't make this again unless it was to take to a potluck or something, but it was quite good. I am looking forward to leftovers for lunch which, to me, is always a good sign of a successful recipe try.
