Oprah's new book, Food, Health, and Happiness: 115 On-Point Recipes for Great Meals and a Better Life isn't just a recipe book. Yes there are lots of (Weight Watchers friendly!) recipes in the book, but it's much more than that. Part travelogue, part journal, and part inspirational story, this book is full of the kind of uplifting positivity that permeates everything that Ms. Oprah does.

Throughout the book, Oprah talks about the origins of many of the recipes she curated for the collection, such as her experiences sharing chai with a family in India. She regales the reader with personal stories, her struggles with getting healthy, and her personal approach to life and food. Reading this book is like visiting with a good friend over a cup of (chai!) tea :)
The book is divided into chapters based not on course, but on a variety of eating experiences. The opening chapter is full of soups (and it comes with a lovely story about why she chose to open her book this way) and moves through chapters like:
What are you REALLY hungry for?
The Faith of a Mustard Seed
A World of Possibility, and
A Healthy Indulgence
This is not a book of diet recipes. It is full of the kind of foods you want to eat, both healthy and a little more indulgent. It is in keeping with Oprah's belief that life is about balance and moderate, not deprivation. It is about celebrating life, food, and the memories we make long the way. And if you do happen to be following weight Watchers, the SmartPoints values are included for each recipe.
I recommend this book for anyone who wants to feel inspired to live their best life, whether you are trying to lose weight or simply want a resource full of recipes that will inspire -- no, compel -- you to cook great food.
