If you've found yourself in a flavour rut in the kitchen, I have a subscription service that is for you. Raw Spice Bar sends unique, themed collections of spices right to your mailbox every month.
This month's theme was Navajo spices. Here's what was included:

If you aren't familiar with these spices, you may wonder what to do with them. Raw Spice Bar takes the guesswork out of that, too. They include several recipes using each of the spice packets included. You can also go to their website to find more ideas for using your spices, too.
I decided to make the Whole Roasted Sumac and Sesame Za'atar Cauliflower:

I chose this one because I knew my family would like it, and I had everything on hand to make it. Bonus, right? Here are the ingredients:

Salt and pepper, the Raw Spice Bar packet, oil, and cauliflower. (The recipe calls for plain olive oil, but this Zesty Onion version is my current favourite, so I went with it. Also, sorry for the over-exposed photo. Here's a closeup of the spice packet):

All that was necessary to do was to wash and trim up the cauliflower, mix together some of the spice packet with the oil, pour the mixture over the cauliflower and roast until done. After you take the cauliflower out of the oven, you sprinkle on the rest of the spice mixture and voila! It's done.
My whole family loved the recipe! Cauliflower can sometimes be bland, but accompanied by Raw Spice Bar's delicious spices, it was lifted out of the doldrums in a big, flavourful way!
I love Raw Spice Bar! Not only is a fantastic way to try new flavours, they make it so easy to do so. The only exotic ingredients the recipes call for are the ones they include; everything else you'll be able to find in a regular grocery store.
